Volunteering
If you haven't already, you will probably soon be contacted by our intrepid Volunteer Coordinator, Tomio Takeshita, about volunteering at Champs. Please do your part to help our team with this giant responsibility. We have over 100 positions to fill for our team alone. In addition to regular meet volunteers (timers, lane marshalls, etc.) we will need volunteers out in the field selling apparel and programs, volunteers in the lot directing parking, extra workers providing drinks to the volunteers and coaches and keeping the facilities well-stocked, etc. We also need to set up on the Thursday and Friday afternoons before the meet. The extra work required of our team is too much for our board members to take on alone, so we really need others to help. Please consider staying for the entire day even if your child will only swim in the morning or the afternoon meet. If your child is swimming in the morning, stay and sell apparel in the afternoon. If your child is swimming in the afternoon, you can be a parking or drop-off supervisor in the morning. You get the idea. In advance, thanks for helping us make this year's Champs a success for the league and for our team.
Please read the parking information
It is crucial that all parents be aware of the situation we are facing this year with reduced parking at IVC. Plan your family's parking strategy early. Click the button below for a PDF with more details or go the Champs website by clicking here.
Eric Zener is a local, award-winning professional artist and Strawberry Seals parent. He collaborated with Michael Phelps on an oil painting celebrating the Olympic spirit and the champion in all of us. This fine art print edition of that painting is hand signed by the Olympian himself. Click here to see a larger version.

Seals Get Bit by the Serpents
Not only did the Serpents beat the Seals 324 - 235, but even worse–their families won the majority of the Champs parking passes in the day's raffle! It was a fun meet where many got to spend time with friends and neighbors from Scott Valley and our High Schoolers ended the dual meet season with an 'Anything Goes' (see Taylor Gamboa's unique diving style in the picture to the right) Freestyle Relay. Congratulations to Serpent Matthew Jacket who set a Pool Record of 29.79 for 11-12 Backstroke breaking the 1998 Record by Dashiell Rothberg of 30.59. In our final meet of the dual season the Seals were still getting better with 169 Best Times! Three Best Times congrats go to Coco Miya Lemberg, Cora Went, Esme Shiff, Gabriel Patino, HannahRose Grant, Kerry Norris, Mae Puckett, Max Manwaring-Mueller, Micaela Robinson-Duran, Nora Riedinger and Shayna Lily Ros Bomfim-Finkelstein. Thanks to the Scott Valley team for supporting our Champs pre-sale and great meet! Get ready for Champs!!
