Volunteering Requirement
Every swim team in the Marin Swim League, including the Strawberry Seals, is run solely by parent volunteers and the success of the swim team is dependent on parent participation.
Each family is required to sign up for a minimum of 6 volunteer positions. We are also hoping for families to step up and add a Champs slot if possible. Please review the job descriptions on the website and sign up for the jobs that appeal to you and fit within your schedule. First come first served. Most jobs do not require any experience or training. For those jobs that do require some training, you will be briefed on deck or partnered with a veteran volunteer.
Since parent volunteers run all swim meets, being there and being on time is critical. If a family discovers that they are unable to fulfill a commitment, it is that family's responsibility to find an adequate replacement and to notify the volunteer coordinator of any change. If your schedule is erratic, please consider paying the opt out fee of $500.00. Missing work assignments and even being late for swim meets seriously and negatively impacts the team. A strict "Late Arrival/No Show" penalty of $100.00 will be assessed per infraction.
Please check in with the Volunteer Coordinator 15 minutes prior to your scheduled job to assure you are credited for the job.
We are always looking for parents who are interested in being a starter or a stroke and turn judge. Training is available at the Stroke & Turn/Starters Clinic - time and date to be announced soon.
